This clinical trial is a Phase 2/3 study that will evaluate the efficacy and safety of etavopivat and test how well etavopivat works compared to placebo to improve the amount of hemoglobin in the blood and to reduce the number of vaso-occlusive crises (times when the blood vessels become blocked and cause pain).

This study aims to enroll 58 pre-adolescent (<13 years) pediatric participants with sickle cell disease (SCD) who have a pre-adolescent sibling bone marrow donor.

This study is designed to estimate the efficacy and toxicity of familial HLA mismatched bone marrow transplants in patients with non-malignant disease who are less than 21 years of age and could benefit from the procedure.
